We are coming to the end of our year and it is time for joining night. Please SAVE THE DATE and invite friends to the Facebook Event tab.
It would be really helpful if past parents could be available in the cafeteria to help answer questions. I believe the strongest advocates we have for this program is parents sharing their experiences about the program with new families. Please let me know if you are available to help.
During this time we will have a student run exhibition in the gym showing all the modules and labs covered this year. Student interested in participating in the exhibition will have time to prepare during the upcoming month of May.
At 6:30pm we will do a quick presentation about the program and families will have the opportunity to sign up for the following year. Right now I am foreseeing only two labs as we had this past year with a 30 student cut off. Registration opens Tue, May 28. Students enrolled will be at a first come first serve basis. Please don't wait to register as past students will not be guaranteed a spot for the upcoming year.
We will have information available for additional labs at McAlister and the Middle school if we have enough interest. I am also willing to assist and help with those.
Thank you so much for everyone's excitement and help during this year. It took many volunteers from receiving boxes, sorting materials, preparing presentations, teaching labs, parents helping at labs and making sure students attended labs on time. Thank you so much for your commitment to this program. This would not have been possible without everyone helping out and working together!
During this lab scouts were creating their own circuit using all the examples they have learnt during the past five labs.
During this lab scouts were looking at creating a tripping device. As soon as the burglar tripped the device the buzzer would go off.
In today's lab we learned about conductivity and named a few other conductive materials. We learned about how electrons flow in a current to form electricity.
During this lab students learned about endothermic reactions which absorbs heat.
During this lab scouts were experimenting with different ways to make carbon dioxide gas.
