Mod 4 Lab 3 - Silly Sand

During this lab scouts were experimenting with different recipes to make silly sand. 

Background

Activity 1

Scouts were experimenting on how to make silly sand that has the strongest cohesion. they started by stating their quesitons, doing research and formulating their hypothesis. 

Activity 2

Then they designed the experiment, established the procedure and conducted the experiment.

​Testing Criteria
​1 - Drop a golf ball sized ball from 1, 2 and 3 feet
    What happens? - Record Results
2- Pack sand and cut with plastic knife
    Do the edges stay firm?
3- Roll sand flat on a tray and use a cookie cutter
    Can you pick up the shape?
4- Form a large ball and drop it
    Does it fall apart?
5- Form a tall tower
    Does it stand or fall over?
